original paint and casting, no pedal parts included. This tractor was featured in Criswell's Pedal Tractor Book 2nd Edition. Several difference in this casting than the production casting! 1) This one has 6 grill slots and 6 louvers in the engine cover (regular model has 7 in these areas, believe to be the main reason it was rejected); 2) hood is flatter than the regular 88 3) the area on the console where the steering shaft goes through is narrower than the regular 88 4) The tub or bottom of the casting drops down just before the crank; on a regular 88 it drops down just behind the front steering post 5) from the side profile, the grill on this one is straight up and down, while a regular 88 angles back as it goes down 6) Overall length on this one is just slightly larger than a regular 88. We have talked to a grandson that had this tractor at one time; his grandpa worked at the Charles City plant and brought it home for his kids to play with and was in the family for many years until the Beauprez family; who was looking for a small open grill 88 for their collection. It wasn't until they were getting ready to start the restoration that they noticed the difference! This is the equivalent to the JD coffin block A tractor except there is a few of them known, THIS IS THE ONLY ONE KNOWN TO EXIST!
