Non–South Dakota residents are welcome to purchase any firearm. Long guns (rifles and shotguns) may be picked up in Wakonda, and all buyers must complete a NICS background check unless they possess a valid FFL license. Handguns, however, must be shipped to an FFL dealer in the buyer’s home state for transfer, unless the buyer holds an FFL. Federal law prohibits us from transferring a handgun directly to an out-of-state resident—non-South Dakota concealed carry permits do not apply to this requirement. All pistols and revolvers are shipped via UPS Next Day Air, with shipping costs typically ranging from $35 to $100 per handgun, depending on location.
